The City of Los Angeles has passed a Mandatory Vaccine Ordinance that takes effect on August 25th, 2021. The ordinance requires that employees be vaccinated as a condition of employment. The MCIA is working with our attorney on the legality of the ordinance. We are currently meeting with the CAO’s office on the impact of this ordinance. There are three main items. One, any disciplinary actions if an employee refuses to get vaccinated. Two, medical exemptions. Three, religious exemptions. We will keep you informed of the status of the negotiations.
